Our room was spacious and comfortable for us and our luggage, free wifi included. Breakfast was also included in our fee and absolutely brilliant. The breakfast venue in the hotel was very convenient and offered a HUGE delicious variety each morning. ALL staff who we met were very friendly and helpful. We discovered during our stay, with unexpected blizzard - that this hotel was the ONLY one in town that had a back up generator - which made us even happier that we had selected this hotel!! Considering the weather and that we were trapped in the building for two days the generator was excellent news!! Unfortunately due to the blizzard conditions the indoor heated pool struggled to stay warm enough for us to enjoy. But we got to make a snowman and snow angels!! When weather improved for us to move about, we were very close to the major Bourbon Distilleries - Buffalo Trace and Woodford Reserve.

It is within walking distance to Buffalo Trace - however - it rained the days I stayed there so I had to drive. Still, it's really close to everything you need (CVS, groceries, gas stations, etc.). It would have been nice if the hotel had a shuttle to the Buffalo Trace distillery. The hotel itself is really pretty (especially the vestibule) and the rooms are quiet and well appointed.

Great location downtown. Easy walk to good restaurants. We stayed here to go to Buffalo Trace, which was a mile away. Very large "corporate" type hotel, but it was busy over the weekend. Room was clean and furnishings were OK. New parking garage is convenient, but lots of walking/steps to climb.

The rates were fantastic for the location. Check-in staff were definitely familiar with the loading/unloading situation and told us how to bring our luggage up to our room and then park in the parking ramp after unloading. Pointed out the elevator, breakfast buffet restaurant and pool. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The buffet breakfast was satisfactory. Nice selection. Had tea and cocoa for us non coffee drinkers. The hotel was conveniently located to our adventures to Four Roses, Bourbon River Boat Cruise, Buffalo Trace Distillery and The Rising Sons winery and many others.

It is a beautiful old hotel. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was top notch. The staff were friendly and helpful and you can tell that they care about their hotel

I liked that the windows opened most hotels like that yk you can’t get any fresh air without going all the at outside but with the plaza u could wake up open your your blinds open the window n take in the air and the moment

It was a short drive from Buffalo Trace Distillery. It is walkable to where the restaurants and bars are if you are able to walk 20+ mins. It is very historic, old town feel. Our room was comfortable, clean with a nice view. The breakfast buffet was excellent and a must have if you stay. The reception staff was a very friendly and lovely lady. There is a nice waterfall in the lobby, I believe this hotel was grand back in their day. The pool was fine. Parking was free. Would certainly stay here again.

Perfect location for a visit to the Bourbon Trail. Close to Buffalo Trace Distillery and local Breweries. The staff was the friendliest we've experienced in a long time. They were there if needed with a smile. Plan on being hungry at breakfast time. The Capital Plaza had the very best breakfast of any place we've ever stayed and we travel a lot. The highlights were freshly baked biscuits and sausage gravy, eggs, sausage, shredded potatoes, French toast, misc baked goods, fruits and much more. All very tasty and refilled. You won't be disappointed.

Upon entering the building I was wowed by the beauty of the lobby the water wall and the beautiful flooring. The staff really impressed me with their kindness and willingness to help with anything, especially the front desk staff and the girls working the breakfast buffet I love talking to them all. They also laughed at all my jokes I like to think I'm funny

Definitely an older hotel and some age was very evident in the broken A/C for the breakfast area, broken ice machines on several floors, but the the ambiance is still beautiful and it suited our needs fine for a one-day bicycle ride.
